Where Are You Lord?

Psalms 13:3 – Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.

Where are you Lord? Why have you hidden your face from me? – These questions are standard petitions we make known to God. In each scenario, when David was being hunted by King Saul, and Job lost all he had, they too felt abandoned by God. However, there is a stark contrast to their concluding reactions because even though the boulders of struggle were heaped on their shoulders, they still praised God. There wasn’t any complaining as we do today. In Psalms 13:5, David said, “I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.” Their greatness was measured by their faithfulness, for greatness shouldn’t be measured by education, wealth, or talent. No, their greatness was measured by what it took to discourage them; therefore, praise God through every circumstance and He will lift you up. Amen
