The Seven Loaves

Mark 8:20 – “And when I fed the 4,000 with seven loaves, how many large baskets of leftovers did you pick up?” “Seven,” they said.

Here’s a question that should be easy to answer. When God is on your side who can stand against you? (Philippians 4:13) When uncertainty shrouds your mind like a thick fog looming over the highway, whose light is there to penetrate the cloud that deters drivers from traveling down the road? See when the disciples didn’t have any food for the people, they were scared. They questioned what they were supposed to do and ultimately lacked faith in the Lord. However, God showed his disciples that appearances are not always what they seem. 7 loaves, which fed 4,000 people, left a 7 basket surplus. “Don’t you understand yet?” (Mark 8:21). 7 is the number of completion. Is there any coincidence that there are 7 days in a week, 7 continents, or 7 seas? No, because God chose 7 to mark a completed work and the beginning of something new. God bless.
