I Was Surprised
Ezekiel 47:7 – When I returned, I was surprised by the sight of many trees growing on both sides of the river.
“I was surprised” is the phrase that captured my attention. “I was surprised” has both good and bad connotations. “I was surprised” was this
man’s view on the life he saw growing around the Dead Sea, for in reality, the Dead Sea is uninhabitable for all life. The Dead Sea is not only 9.6x more salty than the ocean, but swimming looks more like floating. Hence, how could a man see trees grow in such a harsh environment? The answer can only be by God’s grace. For the water will flow into the Dead Sea making the water pure. Trees will provide fruit for its inhabitants and animals will flourish in the depths of its waters. God’s picture is one of peace and joy, which is something only possible upon his return. Therefore, may we be optimistic and fervent in prayer because which one was doomed, has now found the eternity of life. God Bless
