Cleansing Cry
To cry is to purge every emotion of heartache from our bodies. To cry is to release steam like a tea kettle when the water has reached its boiling point. To cry in overwhelming joy, is like a waterfall cascading upon our heads. To cry is a part of life. We cry through pain, which draws us closer to God. We cry through fear, which strengthens our minds towards the future. We cry because we’re human and can now see God in our vulnerability.
No man or woman can be helped if pride and arrogance consume their hearts. For example, look at David who wept in his exile, or Job who wept in his destitution and losses, or Samson who wept in his weak will towards women, which caused him to lose his strength. They all cried. But in every tear was a breath of relief because once their eyes were dried and the nose was cleared, their life brightened. May we see God in full view, as the peace and joy once taken from our lives comes flooding back renewed. Amen
