A Real Friend Sticks Closer Than A Brother

Prov 18:24 There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.

 
Know the difference, acquaintances are a dime a dozen and true friends are few and far between. So let’s use Christ as an example, for he will never leave, cast aside, or judge us. He died for us, which is the ultimate display of love. He accepts us when we fall and picks us up when we are weak. He is the rock that we can always lean on. We are never disappointed because his words comfort us, and his purpose fulfills us, he is our friend. Thus, if we have the perfect model why do we fall short? Answer, we’re imperfect, the reason why the poster of Christ should be on every wall to remind us how to be. Then when a friend falls short, we won’t want to walk away, but rather be an encouragement to them, because our mind has aligned itself to God who gives us strength to stay the course. Amen
